I tow a trailer that weights between 10 & 11000 lbs. with my '04 6.0 F250 w/3.73 gears and automatic trans. It is pretty flat around here (South Louisiana) and I usually run between 70-75 mph. I always tow in tow/haul mode but in OD. I average about 14 mpg. Should I drop out of OD to tow this load? I always thought as long as the trans. is shifting in out of OD that I was safe. What do y'all think?

Tow in O.D. The torqueshift tranny does NOT have a Over Drive Off function. This is a good thing. The Tow Haul mode will take care of everything when it needs to. Enjoy the extra MPG with the O.D.

Usually the last shift like thing I feel is when my converter locks. Love the way my tranny shifts when towing.

    tuner

Are you using any type of tuner or programmer in your powerstroke ? I have a 2005 Harley package and I,m towing a 11,000 lb. toy hauler with two harleys in the back. i've added a new air intake and 4" turbo back exhaust. Now I want to do some playing. Any suggestions as to what tuner to use. I'm only looking for extra fuel milage while not towing and extra power when I'm towing. Any suggestions ?:)

I have a custom tuned SCT Xcal2. DJ's Performance wrote the tunes for me. They are great people and give you unlimited tuning. I love it since I am constantly after more mods. Everytime you change something you can get a new tune. Just give them a call and tell them that David from Miami sent you. I have been a customer of theirs for four years now. Here's their number 352-528-0688.
