Hi to everyone, I do have Q. I now have 2001 Dodge 2500 LB 5.9 Diesel, this truck can tow 10,000 lb trailer with WD on the hitch. Over 10,000 they set must be fifth wheel. What is a maximum weight of trailer that can be tow on hitch with 2006 - 2007 2500 models ? Somehow dealer can't give me straight answer and the brochure mostly deal with total GCWV. Did anybody know the answer ? milos
my buddy has the same truck but an '02. according to his manual its 13,000 lbs. if you want exacts i would shoot an email to dodge at their website and give them your vin. they will be able to give you an exact weight. course thats juat a "suggested" weight
An '02 dodge will have a max. bumper pull rating of 10K. the 13K will be for 5th wheel. This is due to the fact that the bumper pull hitch is only rated for 10K. I'm not sure what the newer, '06-'07 are, but i would not imagine it's more then 12K.
I have never seen a bumper pull hitch rated over 10k lbs. Trust me I have looked. its hard to find a decent receiver hitch and ball rated over 5k. I had to go to a trailer suppy. Over 10k will be a fifth wheel hitch. or a pintel hook on a dumptruck
yes they do but they are the only option for a bumper pull thats over 10k, if you have a proper truck set up for it, ie dump truck.
