I drive a company truck everyday so my Dodge sits a week or more at a time. When I do start it and let it idle for a minute then put it in gear it doesnt move then slowly stars to work. After it does it seems fine. I pull a boat and have 35s and it doesnt seem to slip or anything. I only have 20,000 miles on it so this is a concern. My dad had a 99 with a box and over 100,000 miles and it does the same thing, i just didnt expect it out of a new truck. Is it hurting anything and should i be concerned.
Don't worry, when it sits the TQ converter drains and needs a moment to refill to engage, heres what you do... as soon as you start the truck put it in neutral it will help it fill faster, mine and my buddies truck do it to they are both 2007's with the 5.9 CTD. sometimes you will hear a noise and feel the TQ engage while in park, it's a awfull sound but normal.
