I always here the other diesels whistling as I pass them. What makes the turbo whistle so loud on their rigs? I can bearly hear mine.
what year is your truck? you can hear mine big time on my dodge. fords spool up a LOT faster and louder than anythign else out there. i have removed the baffels inside the plastic tube going into the turbo. made it a lot louder than it was. drive on down here some day, ill show ya... Grant
You have good insulation.... Fords are by far the loudest, rediculously whistley.... You can remove your silencing ring, it's in the turbo inlet and is held in by a very large snap ring. It won't neccessarely make it louder at peak boost, but you'll hear it spool up and back down better.
You can remove the silencing ring but it won't make much difference. If you want it to be louder throw an AFE intake with torque tube on there, that will make it nice. Ask Esteban, he road for about 100 miles in mine the other day
Lol I don't know... The main point of the new intake is that it's your first stepping stone torwards being able to add a box. Basically you need a higher flow intake and exhaust before adding a box. I did the TST and the intake at the same time so no clue on power additions by just the intake. I will say it sounds cooler than hell though
sjip the torque tube and do the mod yourself. they cost WAY too much and you can mod the factory tube to get the same results. i still have the silencer ring in mine, but lost the baffels. Grant
I took that silencer ring off of mine and it made the turbo noticably louder between like 5 - 25 lbs of boost
