I have an 06 lbz with an inclosed cold air intake. If you want more whistle go open. there was a writeup in diesel power mag that told of most power gains niose {whistle} and ease of installation. Im a heavy equiptment operator and in alot of dirt so I perfer closed but do run with cover removed for more whistle

I haven't tried it yet, but I have heard that if you remove the resonator you will get more whistle. You can cap it w/a 2" Pipe Cap.

I too have an '07 lbz ccdually and long for the Whistle sound. At this time I have the S&B closed cold air box. I get good sound up to about 20-25# of boost then I get a rushing sound up to 29#. I will try taking the cover to see if it makes a difference. Currently I'm working with Diesel Nut in the Sacramento Ca. area (great group of guys if anyone is looking) to change my turbo to the BD brand to get better airflow and whistle throughout the rpm band while towing (and of course racing).... In my research this fits my needs. I suggest looking for a shop in your area and talk to them about your real world needs.

I like driving in traffic w/the windows down to hear the sound bounce off the other cars.:pimp:

I have been thinking of going straight pipe.

What is the difference between the LLY and the LBZ in turbo noise?
