My 91 V3500 has the turning radius of an 18 wheeler. Granted is is the length of a bus, but I would like it to turn in less then an acer of land. It has a 6" lift with a drop pitman arm. When turning full lock of the gear box in either direction, the stops on the steering knuckles are not touching. Does any body have a solution to this issue, or am I stuck with the acer u-turn?
crew cabs are big and long as you stated. best thing to do with the lift and style of truck is to go crossover steering setup. it will help this and also better road feal and a lot less bump steer. go pop over to www.ck5.com our sister site. pop in the garage section and do a search for crossover steering. there is tons and tons of stuff on there. i got my stuff from http://www.offroaddesign.com/Dana60crossover.htm and loved it. its beefy and well built. all you need is to swap out the 4x4 steering box for a 2x4 box. then basicly bolt it up. any questions just ask me if you want. same user name at both places.
Thought about a crossover steering set-up. The only thing that has kept me from doing it is the interfearance with the engine cross member. Is that a real problem???
