Title's self explanitory. My full-time job is as a graphic & layout designer for a medium-sized regional newspaper. I also own & run a web desgin, hosting and computer repair business that consumes almost all my spare time. Hopefuly soon, it will be my only income... it's just too early to feel comfortable leaving my day job.
I'm a computer geek, I do desktop support for a company that nobody has ever heard of, but hopefully will one day be a household name.imp:
I'm a Regional Manager for a large company based in the East. I have 8 people that report to me and I travel quite a bit for this company. We supply all of the non structural components for both the interior and exterior of a Self Storage Building. Not very exciting but it pays the bills and then some. Rob
Wow, all these fancy management/computer oriented jobs and here I am just a dumb 'ol farmer.rotfl I farm 365 Acres of rice with my dad, mechanic for his commercial trucking business/manage when he is out of the office, and am just starting to get into buying and selling used heavy equipment.
Construction Manager. I am currently building the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, VA. Here's a website for it
Dairy Farmer, I proably work my dodge harder than anyone here. Farming is tough on a truck I haul tractors, equipment, and hay with it all the time. I'd say when I am towing with it, 50% of the time its overloaded.
HVAC Service Technician doing mostly commercial work, currently looking for a new job in Roanoke, VA.
Nothing. Been out of work since last May for medical reasons i wont get into. Although i do still go to school full time, i guess that counts.
Programmer for a company specializing in medical billing software for hospitals/dr's offices. Not real exciting, in fact it's pretty boring, but it does buy a lot of K5 parts.
Technical Support ~ I use to support network hardware when I worked at 3Com but now I support software at a payroll company. Mostly enduser support, error boxes and data issue. Someday I will quit and be a House Husband washing dishes and cooking dinner while my wife make all the money, hey it's her turn to be the bread winnerimp:
Computer programming and architecture consultant. Currently under contract as architect and lead programmer for a large scale system automation project. Also under contract with IBM Speech Research (talking to your computer) until recently (budget cuts). Sometimes also teach advanced programming techniques and new technologies to experienced programmers (1 week classes). That's why I was in NY and Boston earlier this year.
I'm a mail processing equipment mechanic for the US Postal Service. I prefer to be involved with projects at work, automating machines, etc., than my regular work. I'm taking the test to become an electronics technician soon, because it pays a little more. We have several, multi-million dollar machines in my building to process the mail, as well as computers, labelers, strapping machines, conveyors, etc. We do only international mail in my facility.
Electrical Engineer, I design building and industrial power systems, controls, fire alarm, lighting, security, etc.
I'm a lunch lady, and yes I really do serve mashed potatoes with an ice cream scoop. It's not a huge paycheck but it's nice for a college kid, plus if you work 8 hours you get 2 free meals.imp: One meal for 4 hours. During the summer at home, I work for a small freight brokerage that my neighbor started 2 years ago.
