So, what do you use for a little extra height under your trailer jack? I need to get a block of wood or something to get enough height to hook up/unhook the trailer.

A chunk of 6x6 has always worked well for me.

    Drop leg jacks ROCK!!

umm, i keep about 10 scrap 2x4's in varrious lengths around 18 inches in my truck and the trailer has another 8 or so on the chain tray.

a 6x8 section would be nice. nice solid foot.

i also keep 4 tire chocks chained in sets of two on the goose neck. this way i can chock the tires up when its parked, truck attached or not.

i do stupid things, but im not stupid.... rotfl

Didn't you get the 7k drop leg jack? Pull the pin before you crank it down, it's got a ton of height in there! :doah:

I got tired of digging the 2x pieces out of the ground so I cut two pieces off a railroad tie (not the kind you wear around your neck). They last forever and don't get lost in the dirt.

I put a few sponges down there. Takes a few to make up the height I need, but I like the forgiving nature of them once the trailer is settled.

I thought it took me walking over to you at BF and asking why you didn't just drop the leg down. rotfl

I would have done the same thing but when my trailer was delivered the guy dropped the leg when he unhitched it from his tow rig, I probably wouldn't have noticed it on myself, just would have bitched about all the cranking. :doah:

Exactly, that was like the second time I used the jack. The first time was unhooking it after I bought it rotfl ( well now that I think about it I did use it once inbetween for my 'test load' & brake setup )

We just use an old 2x6 under my freinds 28' enclosed. The only reason we use it is there is no foot on the jack. I don't dare use any thing taller becouse we are allways walking in and out of the rear ramp door and feel it needs to be as stable as possible. My 18' flat bed has a bulldog drop jack. That does help allot. I've been trying to talk my freind into getting one of those 12 volt electric jacks but he thinks $300 is alitlle much for a jack.

Don't need anything....the landing gear has more then enough adjustment on the gooseneck!

But, when I use the bumper pull trailer, I have a 4"x4" block that spreads out the weight so it doesn't sink. That's about all I use it for.

A big chunk-o-wood! You'll have to excuse the fancy nomenclature.
