Bosch RV275's what HP are they. i heard that if you put a EZ with these its pretty good for the money. i was really considering a set of 100hp stage 3 edge nozzles, and i have a left over hypertech that a could stack with it, thats not the best ever i know but its what i got.:doah: but does anyone know how hot they get while towing and just running down the road. i will stack something better but only when the paper stacks right:stir:
RV 275's are about a 40-50 HP injector and are a good bang for the buck injector especially for towing. Those are the injectors I plan to run to get a little more grunt from my truck for towing but still hopefully have the clutch survive with my Smarty & eventual exhaust. Harley
i had an idea that 275's where for towing but wasnt 100% positive. would you think that stage 3 nozzles would be good for some stoplight raceing and towing but not much towing. i plan on stacking with a hypertech, not the best but thats what i got. so the just of this is, are stage 3 nozzle ok for just daily driving and whats the smoke level likeon a scale of 1-10. or should i consider some thing else? any feed back would be greatopcorn: waytogo
Your hypertech's extra fuel is all your turbo can handle. Stage 3's and the hypertech is a waste of time towing or not, as you'll melt the motor with a heavy trailer and no guages, and just get too hot too quick to go anywhere racing. Stage 3 Jammers are 105HP injectors, if memory serves.
i didnt think that combo would be to much for the turbo. the hypertech is a relative low power gain and the company said that its safe to tow with all day. that said stacking it with the nozzles will raise the egt which i understand, but i wouldnt think that it would be that intense. i will be getting gauges before i do this and wouldnt think that it would be that big of a deal
With just my Smarty box I am betting I will be throwing down some pretty decent EGT's till I get a 4" exhaust put on and the boost elbow installed to raise the PSI some. A set of 100hp injectors and a small box with stock exhaust could definitly put you in the danger zone on EGT's. Harley
If you get gauges then it isn't a big deal to run a set of nozzles w/a programmer. You just don't tow/race with the MPH you do it with EGT's. You also should get nozzles pop tested to make sure they work correctly. If you run EGT's to high for to long you take the risk of melting down the pistons and that is why gauges are a must when you modify the motors. Even completely stock with about 1500lbs in the bed of the truck I could get my EGT's up to 1200ish on long steep hills. They say 1250 is the max that you can sustain for long periods of time and maintaining anything over 1350 for more then a few minutes can run the risk of meltdown. Harley
Even with guages it doesn't matter. 105HP sticks is way too much for an HY35. He will only have extremely short bursts of power before hitting 1300*. He needs a larger turbo to use sticks that big.
I always forget that you guys with the autos have a smaller turbo then I do because of my manual tranny. That definitly won't help the situation with EGT's. Harley
It's more-so the year, not just because you have a manual. People forget that regardless of trans all trucks got the HX35 for 7 years. It was only 2001-2 autos that got the HY for emmissions reasons.
the stage 3's aren't too big for an HY a buddy of mine has been running his for almost a year, yeah it does get hot but it's not to bad.
