Is Dodge going to still offer the normal quad cab in 06? I would think so but just wanted to check, also is it offered only in the 2500 and not the 3500?

Yes, they are. The mega cab is only going to be available in a shortbed, SRW, which really kills the deal to me.

Is it just me, or are they actively trying to limit the appeal of their Ram? No real crew cab. No chassis cab. No pseudo-crew cab except on limited configs (and it's not the "work horse" configs). Seems like they are actively ignoring the "real work truck" segments completely.

Yes, ive noticed that as well. They seem to appeal more to the weekend warrior, and maybee they are happy with that:dunno:

I look at the quad cab as an extra-cab with forward faceing doors so in that respect they are nice. Not sure what to think about the Megacab as it kind of looks like a large Dodge version of the Ford sporttrac. And why they moved the ugly front end over from the Durango I don't know.
To bad about the 4500 and up, not sure what they are thinking??

Sure, it's great for the extended cab folks. But they are so close to picking up a much broader audience, it makes no sense to me why they wouldn't do it.

I know that I probably would have held out for a Megacab if they were going to offer it in a long bed DRW.

I would probably be interested in one if they changed two things...

    1) Figure out how to program out that pesky multi injection garbage out that quiets the motor.

    2) NOT use that ugly as sin Dakota front clip.

Having a short bed doesn't really bother me but what does bother me is that 6" of the mega cab is just storage space behind the rear seat. WTF for? I say cut that 6" off the cab and squeeze a long bed on a slightly longer frame and have another foot of storage space. waytogo And offer it in a a DRW model, darn it! (excuse my language rotfl )

On a different note, if I was going to buy a new '06 truck I think I would take a Ford King Ranch, I can't stand the Dakota Front clip.

I think they are just trying to keep up with what the rest of the sheep want.

A family cruizer that LOOKS like a truck. I'm suprised it isn't IFS or some other "creature comfort" B.S.
