A little market research for the diesel performance manufactures and dealers please! If you are an end user or even a dealer, who do you usually buy your diesel products from?
I pretty much buy everything online. Can't beat the selection, product information, and the convenince of them carrying it to your house.
I like to by from the manufacturer, but alot of times I buy from vendors on the various websites I go to. But if I need a cummins part fast there are several places in town to get them that day. That's one good thing about living here, it's a big distribution center so there are lots of places to get parts. And if they happen to be out, they will call there competitor down the street for you and find one in town. I've had this happen a few times. I don't go to speed type shops but I don't know of any around here anyway. Basically I try to go where I can find the best customer service. waytogo I try to find the best deals but I've got a few places in town that have helped me out and I go back without question when I need something.
Usually buy on-line, shop for killer discounds on the parts I want. Most of the parts on my truck were way below MSRP. I did pay retail for my A-piller triple gauge pod, ATS gauges, and ATS trans pan. I haven't found anyone that sells ATS stuff at a discount.
Thats because ATS is so tight on pricing. They don't give us enough margine to really knock alot off the price. About the best I can do on ATS is free shipping on their smaller stuff (no trannies, ect). I don't really like to deal with them much. Jason
yeh they are. ive known the owner since before i caould talk. im really happy for him that his biz is taking off. he loves these diesels with a passion. and hes a joy to talk to.
i believe your right. they just opened a new shop so their havin a grand opening event in the spring, and they will have a dyno there. that will be alot of fun!
We have a couple of smaller shops in Hawaii that buy our products but like you said no real diesel diesel performance shops... hmm nice opportunity for someone who wanted to open up small business
funny you said that i was thinking about that myself but the market here is small really small for now but there will be a 4x4 park opening so tho hmmm
I think there is lots of potential there for average size diesel performance shop, got to be sure to be the first to plant your stake though! We get lots of call from HI and like to refer ALL our end user calls to our distributor network, put a stocking order on your shelves to qualify you for BD referral Distributor with Distributor pricing and let us send you all the Hawaiian referrals and bada boom your up and running.
ya thats no good, but its not all racing, our biggest market is towing, our highest selling product in HI is exhaust brakes!
