Who has rubber floors on their tow rig?

I do and I love them. Extremely easy to clean, look great, and they'll never wear down or stain. I just grab a bucket of Murphy's and water and a rag and my floor looks like new in less than 5 minutes. Does anybody else have rubber floors or did everyone get carpet in their new rig?

me neither.. I wanted rubber floors, but I wanted a power drivers seat, power windows and door locks more.. so a rubber floor went right out the window..

No. But mine are bare metal, soon to be bedlined. It makes it so much nicer to clean out.

 

I got the rubber floor in mine. I have not had it long enough to need it cleaned yet.

 

I have a rubber mat in my truck and love it. If I want carpet I just go to my house where carpet belongs.

The word truck and carpet just don't go together in my book

 

Got one in mine . The sales department thought I had lost my mind when I checked off the carpet delete option when I ordered my truck. They kept telling me that it would not save any money by deleting the carpet and that I was nuts for ordering a SLT interior package and ordering a rubber floor mat instead of plush carpet - they just don't understand.......
It's been 3-1/2 years and I am still happy with my choice of the rubber mat in my truck. Carpet is for cars and houses

Carpet in mine, although I would agree that rubber is WAY easier to clean out. Do any of you diesel/rubber floor guys think you are getting anymore noise through the floor then you would with some thick carpeting? I know I've run a couple diesels with rubber floors and it was definitely louder in the cab. On a 2000 mile trip I think Id rather have a quiet interior, but if we are talking about contractor/around town rigs, rubber floors are definitely the way to go.

 

I ditched the stained tan carpet in my 95 3500 and installed the factory W/T rubber floor mat from my 94 3500 before I got rid of it. Sure is alot eaiser to clean than the carpet when it's full of sand.

 

I pulled the carpeting out of my truck and left it bare metal, and you really dont get much more engine noise. What i do get though, is more heat. That floor gets hot if im really working the motor in overdrive. With my A/T's on, you can easily cary a conversation inside the truck at 85mph, at highway speeds there is more wind noise than there is engine drone through the floor. Then again, my 6.2 is probobally quite a bit quieter than your powerstroke. I will be spraying bedliner on the floors when i get the time, just to seal them up and give a more grip when wet.

I havent regretted ditching the carpet yet.

 

I'd have to say the rubber floor made the Cummins a little quieter as well.

 

I still have all the sound deadening material under the rubber mat so it is fairly quiet inside the cab. I have not noticed a noise difference in other trucks with carpet but it would make sense that the carpet would be somewhat quieter.

Rubber floors in my trucks. If I want cushy I'll borrow the inlaws bling bling expedition. My trucks are used for work and I could imagine the carpet after I finish digging a grave in some nice thick Pennsylvania mud rotfl

Now for a DD vehicle I'd probably get carpet, but I don't consider my DD ('86 K5) a tow rig, though I will probably be towing a camper with it eventually.

 

mine is rubber to love it when it comes time to clean and don't have to worry about getting in with muddy feet ......thats nicewaytogo waytogo waytogo

I went too long not vaccuuming out my carpet floor and floor pads in my Ram. So... I took my 3875psi pressure washer to them and it blasted the dirt right out.

Shop vacs are for sissies...rotfl :doah:

Both my '76 and my '99 Chevys have rubber. Its the only way to go for me. I've had carpet in trucks before, but it always seemed to get trashed and nasty in a hurry.

 

I took the mats out and just pressure washed them, they had the dirt that was too deep for the shop vac.

 

I had carpet in my 96 Silverado, and in my 96 F250. When I wen truck shopping, I found a 99 F350 CC with the carpet deleted. Rubber mats. I love the mat. Dog hair sweeps right out (I also have a nylon seat cover for the back seat from Cabelas that is for hunting dogs - works just as well for rugrats). I am not sorry I dont have carpet.
