Well? Any mods? My next tow rig will have a 12 valve in it and looking for reports from owners? You feel there better than 24's?

IMHO the 1997/1998 model Dodges with the P7100 IP and the NVG-4500's were the best that were offered. I love my truck but I have had three injector pumps go out and four lift pumps and it's only got 80,000 miles on it . The ultimate for me would be to have a P7100 IP on my motor but it takes lottery winning cash to make that happen.......

I've got one sittin on a pallet in my shop, does that count?? Its going into my 99 F350. The Cummins is a 96 12V. Planning on 370 injectors, DV, fuel plate, and twins :D

Holy crap! 3 VP44's? Something is going on there man, they are a LOT more reliable than that and usually their failure is caused from dead lift pumps. I mean, they aren't as strong as the P7100 but you should be able to manage a LOT more miles out of one than just 25K a piece. :doah:

    I agree completely !!!

I picked up my truck with TWELVE miles on the odometer and from that point up to the the 35,000 mile mark ( when the first IP got replaced ) I put a lubricant for diesel fuel in EVERY single tank of fuel and was disapointed at the low mileage failure . After that I decided not to use the lube and just ran off of #2 and the same thing happened 40,000 , or so , miles later.
I have had a FP gauge on the truck since around 10,000 miles and I watch it closely so that I do not kill a IP due to a failing LP but I still have problems .

I keep on top of the condition of my fuel filter and I replace the lift pump at the first sign of weakness but I still have issues with the IP failures ???

Anyway - each time I go through this I long for the P7100 and its never ending reliabilty......

 Wow, it seems you should be just fine with your setup. I don't understand that at all.

I'm runnin a 95 with a fire breathin 160hp pumprotfl. Although it has a #10 plate, blocked boost elbow, 3000rpm gov springs, timing at 16*, BIG K&N, 4" straight pipe from the Exhaust Brake back. Future plans 370's, #100 custom plate, O-ringed and studded head and a whole lot more airwaytogo

I have a 215hp 12 valve. So easy to mod and pump last forever. Always fix the kdp asap though. I just started the engine mods and installed gauges, straight pipe and bhaf. I turned my star wheel up some but that isn't really a big hp factor but fun to smoke if you want it to. I just picked up a timing light so I can set my timing up before I adjust/install new fuel plate and 3k gsk which will be next. Mostly stock besides exhaust and intake and still pulled a FJ40 to Moab without struggle. With my fullsize 5700 pound rig you can feel it there but not too bad. Pulling a 6 place enclosed trailer (see my pics) with 4 sleds and trike which weighed total with truck 17,000 lbs and it pulled it without thinking but alot more wind resistant that the 4X.

Mine is a 99 700 rmk with a cut head, slp pipe and can, boost bottle, many hours of clutching, 151, custom tunnel. Our team races a 99 tyson 995 genesis sled, a 02 edge chassis with a 995, and a 600 xc. Thinking of selling the 99 for a m7 though

I have an '03 800cc 159" Vertical Escape. :pimp: My dad has a king Cat. Why do you want an M7? They don't even have reverse, plus with us having two polaris sleds and three A/C's....I have found Polaris to be better quality. I'd go with a 900 RMK. ;)

I like the weight of the m7. I really don't need reverse, its funner that way, then you are commited and can't just back up. I like the polaris because most everyone I know rides them and we have a good collection of spare parts and I know 3 good polaris techs too but after riding that m7 I fell in love with it.

Ah, my Vertical Edge tips the scales at 488lbs, only 18 pounds more than the M7 and has another 100cc's. :D Plus Polaris has electronic reverse, and most importantly a tipped dual angle rail. A/C's feel long and heavy on the trails with no tipped rail. I can out manuveur my dad's King Cat easily through the trees. Regardless, the M7 is a great sled, just needs the 862cc engine, a tipped rail to make it actually handle on the trail, and reverse. ;) Whats this 995cc engine you have? Can you get it as a bolt in crate engine? A link to it?

Its a 995 genesis motor made by PSI. Last I heard they quite making it though. A friend has a 1085 genesis in a 99 CMX chassis with a 162 attack 20. That thing rocks!!!

I found their site last night and was eye balling the 925 motor. Would this motor be very reliable with a long service life and not have over heating issues?

the 995 seemed to be in my opinion the most reliable, prob why they discontinued it. One guy here has some hot rod genesis (can't remember size) but he has never gotten out of view of the trailer before it burns down but he tweeks the thing to the tilt.

Thats what I was afraid of. It would be nice to have an aftermarket engine available like that, that will bolt in, add 50+HP or so over stock, and still be as reliable as the Polaris engine and none of that burning down stuff and having to watch eery little thing about the motor. I want to just get on, start it, and shut it off when I get back from a nice long ride and not have to worry the wole time of what the motor is doing. :doah:

thats kinda why I picked a 700 over an 800 because of the crank probs. Even polaris is killing the 800 line now and only having the 600, 700, and 900. but... errr..... that 12 valve ctd sled would be awesome too
