What's up everyone? Wanted to see if anyone else is noticing a significant decrease in their fuel mileage now that winter is here. My mileage has decreased at least 1-2 mpg average, if not more.
It is hard to tell for me. I don't drive the Diesel much and I just installed a 6" lift on it. I think that I have seen about a 1-2 mpg drop as well, before the lift. LT.
i have definitely seen at least 2 mpg drop. i use additive which helps, but i still loose about 1-1.5 mpg with it. i think the biggest reason is that it takes soooooo long to warm up to where it gets good mileage. on bad roads after a storm, i have driven at 30-35 mph for 40-50 minutes and my temp never gets above 150-160. i have put cardboard infront of the intercooler to get intake temps higher and it has helped get it warm a little sooner.
Yea I have seen at least 2 or 3 miles to the gallon drop and the programmer is turned down and I drive a little less aggressive due to the slick roads too.
ok... that makes me feel a bit better. although i am in southern california where i don't even know if they change for winter
Here in Southeastern Washington they change for winter and you see it a lot in your mileage, additive helps but not enough and now that I am getting divorced my only rig is my truck (I was forced to sell everything else to pay for my lawyer) and she took the car with the four cylinder engine. I am only getting about 18 or 19 gallons to the mile right now it sucks. But with the roads I am not driving much and the money and credit cards and tempory child support ($717 per month) my wife is sucking down it cuts my driveing a lot. But light is at the end of the tunnel as my daughter is emailing me now and she wants to come home.waytogowaytogo I'll pay my wife the money if I get my kids, as she is a money sucking (blank)itch!. Sorry for the rant--off of my soapbox.
It would be to your advantage now to edit your above post to delete a portion...The part I left out of the quote...This is a public forum and eyes and ears are everywhere...I just went through a nasty one myself and I know of what I speak...Ben
I use to be in law enforcement and Sparky you better do as Truckman said. Some times you get blamed for things you didn't do.
Thanks for the gut check guys its good advice. It is nice to know that others have been through this before also, now if we could only get the court system to look at both parents as equels in raising the kids and not just assume the mother is the best one.
