Ok, time for the new guy to ask a new guy question. How do you wire in a Brake controller with-out the factory kit? Do I need to go to the stealership and get the tow kit? Is it even possible to wire up? I planned on getting the Tekonsha(sp) Prodigy is that helps.

    Have a '98 Dakota.

they are pretty easy, usually only 4 wires. One power and ground. One taps into your brake pedal switch, and the other goes to your trailer wire pigtail. Your controller usually has directions that are normally pretty good from the ones I've done.
