your mileage will increase a bit once the truck breaks in... mine steadily increased until i got up to about 10,000 miles and then leveled off....

i got an airaid intake and i have the same motor as you. i like mine fine... i dont really know which brand is the best but im sure any of them...
ya the main thing that i have heard / noticed with my dodge is the not so hot transmission. im sure the thing is fine but i doubt it will last...

ford 4x4 (w/ chevy interior maybe) w/ cummins 600 and allison would be pretty sweet i think
same here if it's cold outside (around 50) mine stays on for like 7 seconds but normally it only stays on for a second or two

diesel... cummins 600 gas... chevy small block transmission... allison 1000 drivetrain... old chevys (when they still had solid front axle) now...
the main thing that i want is a dtt torque converter and valve body so i can actually use the high levels of my chip :pimp:...
