2002 Ho Burning Oil

here's another weird thing that popped up with this oil issue. On this 2002 I probably used rotella for no less than 6 oil changes before I switched to amsoil. The book says it takes 11 qtrs and that's exactly what it took for those rotella changes. When I switched to amsoil with the 5w30 it only took 10 qtrs....scrathing my head on that one. So here recently when I went to amsoil 10w40 (per our discussion here ) again, 10 qtrs????? wtf....over?

 

I would try some Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme in 5W40 alot of my customers use it with great results and my brother and his girlfriend use it in there Power Strokes.

 

So, did your oil stop after the oil change?

 

Sounds like you didn't fill the truck enough when you did the Amsoil change.

 

not sure yet, need to get some miles...and I refuse to do it with all this freaken salt on the road...that's duty for my beater.

 

well as far as I know this dip stick reads pretty much the same as most others I've been reading for the past 43 years....sorry dieseldood, I couldn't resist. I don't know, just something weird I can't explain, I even dug one of the amsoil bottles out of the trash just to make sure it was measured in qtrs.
