Actually the t444e is in a lot more applications other than ford, ie: trash trucks, schools busses, generaters, international cab and chassis 30,000-40,000 gvw, international box trucks, boats etc..... Most of the time you wouldnt even know there was a t444e in a lot of these trucks intil your pop the hood or raise the cab, some have the t444e badges but most dont. The t444e is alot more common than people know http://129.33.208.17/site_layout/engine/t444edetail.asp#durability I have only read claims of powerstrokes getting over a million miles, but have actually seen with my own two eyes a few with over 700,000 miles. Lets also keep in mind that whenever an engine goes that long 9 times out of 10, it has been overhauled regardless of brand.
I chose the Ford Power Stroke because I've seen all three that my father owned perform almost flawlessly on the farm. I'll admit I don't need the biggest, strongest, fastest truck ever, its just gotta pull the trailer I hook up to. I did consider Dodge but every one I've ever ridden in was a rattle box ( gas or diesel) plus their trannies have a terrible reputation. I wouldn't even think of a chevy because of the IFS. I had it on my 1/2 ton and was never fond of it.
can anyone name an engine thats used in more things than the cummins ISB i think that says alot for that engine
The length of the stroke is where you get your torque from and the cummins has a longer stroke than the p-stroke, And second off it is a 6 cylinder it takes a v8 to do what a six does, don't get me wrong they are both good motors but the design is just better for the cummins
here we go again , ...it takes the powerstroke 8 cyl to do what the cummins does in 6, Obviously you dont know anything about the design of either one. man o man..sheesh
