my check engine light has come on twice since i got my chip. the code is P0191 which has to do with the fuel rail pressure being too high i think... the dealer said my chip is causing the problem so i took it off. i would rather have a bit less power w/ no check engine light then more power i guess.

So far the check engine light has only illuminated once for a problem (does so every time for the instrument cluster check). The problem was, I forgot to plug the wires back in for the sensor on the air box last time I had it out prior to starting the truck. After shutting it down, it ceased to illuminate.

Cycle key off to on (but don't start it) 3 times and leave it "on" on the 3rd time, and the odometer should flash the trouble code numbers it has stored. That would be much easier to tell the dealer than simply "light is on", then they can determine it's importance. This works with the 05's at least, owners manual should detail procedure if it turns out to be different. Just another bit of helpful trivia, is if you hold the trip meter reset just after turning the key to the on position it should display engine hours.

well i beat mine like a red headed step child and then take it out back and chain it up to beat on it more... and the light has come on 3 times since i have owned it. almost 2 years now.

over boost 2 times and a bunch of codes that tell me my fuel pedal is going out. ill get it looked at some day. prolly when im on the side of the road. cycle the key 3 times then see what the ODO says.

Forgot about this, here are the codes:

    P0633
    P0514
    P0513

A search on TDR revealed that quite a few newer trucks are doing the same thing.

Welp, the light went on again so I took it in right away, the Dealer thought it was a problem with the electronics in the key, for those who don't know, 06 has a new style ignition key. They replaced the key, so will find out if that was the problem or not if the light stays off.
