A few years ago there was a company selling larger commercial based wheel and tire combos to three quarter and one ton truck owners. My best friend works at fed ex at night and saw some twenty eights roll thru.
every truck down here that has anything to do with dirt or cement has them.... i see 15 or 20 trucks running them a day....:stir: ill get pics if you like....rotfl
www.chromewheel.com sells 10 lug 19.5, 22.5 and 24.5 inch rims that come with 8 lug addaptors. www.brentzwheels.com sells them as well, but i KNOW with the 19.5's you can get them in 8 lug and i THINK the same for the 22.5's. i will be ordering some as soon as i have the cash in SRW for my dodg-ie
Because of the extra ground clearance that they provide, they are popular with the offroad/construction crowd. We run all interestate freight and local agriculture trucks. Nearly no one runs 24.5 standards in that situation, especially freight. They add too much heigth to the deck.
i dunno about that, keep in mind i live in SoCal... never seen any one of theese trucks on dirt.... just on I-15 and I-5..... they also run tires that are shorter than Bud style 24.5's and 22.5's BUT they are MUCH wider... Grant
Stay away from Chromewheel!! He sells USED wheels as NEW!! I have about 5K worth of wheels and tires sitting in storage! They will not fit my truck and he won't return my calls or e mails! :doah: :doah: I ended up buying another set of NEW wheels and tires from www.texastrucktoys.com for $4200.00 to my door! Texas Truck Toys is not the ones selling the wheels it's a member off www.fullsizedodge.com that is selling them and from what I understand they paided trucktoys to help them promote this deal. It took about 3 days for me to get my wheels and tires very good people to deal with waytogo
