You try looking up a local broker? They can usually find someone for ya. Age might be the limiting factor though.
yeah age is a big limiting factor. had trained several guys over age 55 and most OTR companies wouldn't even look at them. this started several lawsuits in the Texas area for age disscimination. It just pisses me off that an insurance company can play GOD without any repercussions
I believe there still in progress or were settled out of court. not sure, haven't talked to those students in about 6 months or so. guess I better get off my keester and do my checkups.
I used to insure my vehicles through Progressive and they kept jacking up the rates every year. Then they insisted our granddaughter be on all three of our vehicles when she wanted to get her license which would be more money for them. I've talked to several LTL brokers who say stay away from Progressive. Thanks but no thanks on Progressive. All they seem to care about is their bottom line.
They will only insure the truck, no cargo. I have looked into it also, for 1,000,000 liability, 150,000 cargo, and 50,000 phy damage (truck & trailer) I got quotes from 8-11k...... For me in the midwest I could not figure a way to make it work, not enough freight, cars pay crap. So I just stayed leased on.
