I needed a crewcab to haul the family around and the shortbed makes it just a little easier to manuever in town. I also personally likes the looks a little better. A pickup bed is always nice to throw dirty or greasy parts in, and a shortbed is plenty for anything I need to haul on a regular basis......besides I have an 18' trailer to use if I really need to haul anything bigger. Sure, longer is better but even a shortbed crewcab is pretty long....longer than a regular cab longbed truck.
I love the shortbed's turning radius and think they look a little "sportier" but when it comes down to it the long bed is the only way to go. Mike
