towed three of the I80 scale the other day. man , those drivers are shure upset when they see me coming to move there red tagged truck and trailer for such small little things. i think the DOT officer was having a very bad day.
one for a brake chamber with a rust flake falling off due to a just cracked spring, one for a cracked trailer shock mount, one for a drag link with less than a 1/8" play

Where did all of this take place at? Days like that I don't miss driving a truck. But I know you guys need to make a living also. Does the DOT man want to :poke: stick his hand in your pockets

IL south of chicago, and you got a few things off.
first it was a woman officer having a bad day, they dont directly call us, drivers find out of number, and call us thereselves, and the DOT didnt fine them at all, just fix it tickets and have it towed out.

i still can't figure out why it got red tagged at the scale and the DOT officer just lets me hook up, drive over the scale and go with this setup.
also dont see the difference of a tow truck pullign a red tagged trailer over a regular tractor, as long as the 5th wheel pin isnt hurt.
