Is it a 5spd? 6spd? or auto? You have the same year (specifically the later year) as me.

    If it's a 6spd ONLY, it's an H.O. If it's a 5spd or auto it's an S.O.

Ok, in another thread I see that you mentioned you have a mag hytec deep trans pan. Your truck is an S.O. and I would highly reccommend the Juice.

Yeah I have pretty much decided on doing the juice now. How does the juice tap into the bosch injection pump? Is it an electronic connection? or is it mechanical? Also, anyone want an EZ?

I guess it would be both.... It uses a T-tap (a good one) to pierce the pump wire.

    It's a pretty sturdy t-tap.

    I'm happy with my Juice/Attitude

I run about 600* running 70 empty. In the 1/4 I could get it stupid hot if I wanted. I can hit 1350* a little past the 1/8th mile mark. HY's suck...

I ended up going with a comp box instead (I figured I already had the guages on the A-pillar so why replace them). Question I have now is on level five I dont feel a lot of speed come with all that power. Is my Tranny slipping that much? My auto only has 50k miles on it. Any advice??

You don't have a signature so I don't see what year you have.

Likely, your stock turbo can't flow enough air to really make the top end of level 5 flat out run. Are you dirty on your top end with level5?

Oh yeah, sorry about that I just added one. I installed a jet in the wastegate from Banks that got me up to 30+ lbs of boost. The thing is I never really noticed a power increase with that but it did 'cap' my EGTs at 1200. I was reading on the BD website that the amount of boost doesnt matter, it is how efficiently the turbo delivers the air. Would that have anything to do with it? On a 3rd gen they said they got more power with a more efficient turbo boosting less. Any validity or just a good sales pitch for one of their turbo's?

    That is completely correct.

Take a large class 8 big rig, they have roughly 12L engines. Most are around say 400HP average.

We can make our little ISB's make 500HP no problem, but if you tried to lug around 80K in a semi with it doing the job of a 12L, it would be extremely innificient and would eventually destroy the engine even though you are theoretically making more HP with a B series.

Same idea, you can make your little HY 35 pump out 35psi or so, but it's going to hate life and make that innificiently.

What happens, when you over compress air it gets hot, your HY is trying to pump too much air at that PSI and it produces hot air. You'd almost be better off at 25psi where the turbo is designed for and will still produce a cooler air charge.

Big turbos that are designed to build 30psi build cool air. So, 30psi from a BD Super B turbo that is nice and cool will make more power than 35psi from an Hy35 that is hot air.

So it may not be the tranny slipping as much as it really isnt making the power advertised due to the 30+ lbs of boost out of the HY?

Are you running an upgraded turbo to run with your Juice/Attitude?

I have no idea what your trans is doing or anything like that, for obvious reasons.

I am still running a stock HY35, even at stock 22psi. I plan to one day do something different turbo wise, mainly due to I'm pungently frugal. rotfl My cheapest route that I basically plan on is an HX35, it has a larger exhaust housing than our HY's and does fine at around 30-32psi of boost. 30psi out of an HX35 should be enough to efficiently burn all the fuel the Juice gives you on top end with level 5 (level 6 in my situation).

The main reason why I never j-hooked my HY to to 30psi is drive pressure. You can only shove so much air respectively through the tiny exhaust housing on the HY, making the compressor side push more air only makes the internal PSI of the engine go up (if you shove more air into something than can come out the other end, it creates compressed air). This is called drive pressure. Too much drive pressure and it works on your head gasket. In real high performance applications, too much drive pressure can even cause a valve to float.

Kinda regretting it now.. oh well. Is there any real potential for harming anything running the chip on level 5 with 30lbs of boost (other than the turbo and tranny)?

Now that I just said that I realized how dumb that sounds, thats some pretty important hardward :doah:

It's hard on a stock tranny thats for sure, watch out for that lockup.

You probably will be fine with your turbo.
