I am pretty sure they are rated 12K-13K depending on gears and stuff. www.trailerlife.com and click on towing specs. or tow ratings, and it breaks it down by truck, and gears, AT or MT, stuff like that.

My 2000 F250 manual says 10,000 and it don't change any for the 1 ton or transmission either. Not sure why ford set it there as the motor will haul a lot more but I was told they set these by the weakest component in the driveline.

Bring up my post from 12/20/06, I had the truck, trailer, dozer with tools and extra fuel weighed at my local farmers co-op. the total weight at that time was 28,600 lbs. Granted I don't do this every day, only once and a while with the dozer. However, I haul the hay through out the summer and haul the excavator quite often. I now have only 120K miles on the truck and I service it as required. No problems with the drive train yet. Also the trailer is rated for the weight and has dual tandem axles with GOOD brakes on each axle.
