Guess I'll update. I jumped on board a small commercial/residential electrical company. Basically I go out all day and do residential service calls fixing things around people's houses and do some commercial stuff when the commercial guys are too busy. Pays great but being in a hot attic when it's 105 outside is not the greatest... The company owners want me to take over the company when they retire but they want a longterm commitment and I'm not sure I want to commit to that but it's hard to say no to $$$

Oh yeah, you wouldn't believe how many people pay an electrican $60 an hour plus materials to come out and change a light bulb...

his job right now is building something for my job...

13 months left.. then be another Bubba rotfl
    Grant

i guess ill be a bit mroe specific.... my job in the Corps is an airframes/hydraulicsman on hueys and cobras. i love turning wrenches, but for some reason turning wrenches on the POS planes in the service.. well it doesnt get along with me. so.. now i am a maintenance controller. on days im the lowest ranking person, E-5 Sgt, but i run the show. i maintain an everchanging flight schedule, 21 AH-!W(cobras) and 11 UH-1N hueys, manage 12 other workcenters totaling about 150 people on my shift. i deal with pilots directly, thats a PITA, and little kids who think mommy is still around....

i also certify aircraft "safe for flight" and i do NOT get paid enough to do much more thna pay the bills. if i was doing tis in the civ world... i would have PLENTY of cash. bekiw are some pictures of the type of helos i work on that is all...

live, work, sleep on a farm of 500+ acres and have about 300+ cattle w/o calves and own the local feed store. our trucks are about the crapiest ones in town but our 91 chevy heavy half will out haul everything here, whats wierd is we bought a 1ton gm back in 96 to haul the heavy loads and the 91 hauls better than it, although the 96 would do better if it wasnt automatic.

Hehe, I have a friend I game with online that flys apaches. He says the pay sucks and the hours are horrendous. He could make 10 times as much in the civilian sector but he doesn't quit because in the civilian area he'd never get to fly an apache and "they are just too damn fun" lol

    Guess I'll make another update...

I still work as an electrician. I just received a $6 an hour raise on Saturday, got my own office, and basically became the highest paid electrician in the company after 6 months of working there, some guys have been there 5+ years  . My boss also offered to start paying my personal gas (with a gas card) and pay for all the electrical items I need in the remodel of my new house (~$3000). Can I ask for anything else?

Apparently I am to start looking for someone to go out and do my dirty work for me so I don't have to go into attics and crawl spaces anymore and I get to sit in the office half the day and call customers :pimp:

I'm a gynecologist. Some days I love my job, others I hate it. Just kidding. I really work as a salesman for a large family owned International truck dealership. We have three locations and I sell out of two of them. We sell mostly to logging and construction companies with the occasional over the road truck. We are big into bidding for municipalties needs. I was sales manager for Big Tex Trailers main plant in Mt. Pleasant, Tx for years until my in-laws health went south and the wife wanted to move back to La. to spend some time helping out. I shut down and sold out our ranch where we were running around 2000 head of commercial cattle. We do have our herd built back up to around 300 head now, so that helps to pay the bills from my playtoys such as my '64 Peterbilt, roping, or playing with our 4 F350's.

I'm new here so I guess this can be my introduction. I'm a civil and environmental engineer working with a consulting firm in east TN. I've got a 99 F350 that I love to drive. I ride motox and hangout with the wife in my spare time. That's about it!
